Maxima partners with clothing shops

Since the introduction of the Extended Producer Responsibility legislation for textiles, Kledingbanken Maxima has worked with clothing shops to give garments a second life. The rules make producers and retailers jointly responsible for textiles placed on the market.

Maxima places collection bins in shops for clothing that was bought there and is no longer worn. This helps shops meet their responsibilities while giving Maxima more wearable clothing to offer in its own shops. Clothing that is unsuitable for reuse is processed sustainably.

Kledingbank Winschoten reopens after water damage

After being closed due to a serious leak, Kledingbank Maxima in Winschoten has reopened. The building has been refurbished with a new floor, refreshed ceilings and a thorough clean, allowing visitors to return to a tidy and welcoming environment.

The reopening immediately showed how great the need is: a queue had formed before opening time. According to the organisation, this underlines the importance of the service for families and residents who depend on clothing support.
