Requesting support
About the Maxima check, documents and your visit.
How do I know whether I may qualify for clothing support?
Complete the personal Maxima check for an initial indication. Select your municipality or area, household and net monthly income. The location will then consider your circumstances and make the final assessment.
Is clothing support from Maxima free?
Yes. Once admitted by the location, you can choose clothing free of charge in an ordinary, respectful shop environment. You choose what suits you and your family.
Which documents should I bring?
Bring valid identification. Depending on the location, you may also need a recent income statement, benefits statement, referral letter or other supporting document. Not everyone needs every document.
Check the document guidance and your location's criteria before visiting.
Is the Maxima check result final?
No. The check provides an initial indication and is not a legal or final decision. Personal circumstances and local arrangements may matter. The location always assesses your situation personally.
Should I feel ashamed about asking for help?
No. Asking for support can feel difficult, but there is no need to feel ashamed. Our volunteers welcome you without judgement, with respect and personal attention. You are very welcome.
Donating
What is welcome and how your contribution supports a local team.
Which clothing can I donate?
We welcome clothing you would be happy to wear or receive yourself: clean, undamaged, fresh and suitable for today.
Very welcome
- Women's, men's and children's clothing
- Shoes and coats in good condition
- Sportswear and everyday basics
- Bags, scarves and modern accessories
Please do not donate
- Clothing with stains, holes or heavy wear
- Very outdated clothing
- Used underwear
- Items with broken zips, buttons or soles
Where and when can I drop off clothing?
Bring your donation to a location during opening hours. Pack the clothing in sturdy bags or boxes where possible. View the locations and opening hours to find the right drop-off point.
Can I make a financial contribution?
Yes. On the donation page, select the location you wish to support. The payment link and bank details update automatically. You can donate by Wero or bank transfer.
Will I receive proof of my donation?
For a digital payment or bank transfer, your payment confirmation or bank statement is your proof of payment. If you need a separate acknowledgement, contact the location you wish to support before donating.
Can companies or organisations contribute?
Certainly. Companies, schools, churches and associations can donate clothing or resources, organise a collection or become a long-term partner. Visit Partners & sponsors.
For referrers
Help a client find the right location and next step.
How do I refer someone to Maxima?
First identify the location serving the client's place of residence or municipality. Then share the client page, Maxima check or relevant location page. The referrer page explains the route clearly and concisely.
Which information should I give the client?
Provide the name and contact details of the correct location, local criteria and any documents that may be needed. Valid identification is always important; an income statement, referral letter or other evidence may also be requested.
Can I complete the Maxima check with a client?
Yes. The check provides a safe initial indication and does not send any answers. Explain that the result is not final: the location assesses the client's personal circumstances.
