Behind every request for support is a personal story.
Kledingbank Maxima Het Hogeland is located on De Werf in Winsum. Our enthusiastic volunteers support residents of Het Hogeland who could temporarily use some extra help. Everyone is welcome and is received with respect, attention and warmth.
Het Hogeland is known for its expansive landscape, characteristic mound villages and proximity to the Wadden Sea World Heritage Site. Winsum, where our location is based, was named the most beautiful village in the Netherlands in 2020. Its historic bridges, atmospheric streets and waterside setting make it a place many people enjoy visiting.
That welcoming atmosphere is also present at Kledingbank Maxima. We want everyone to feel welcome and leave with a positive feeling. A visit is therefore not only about clothing, but also about personal attention and having the space to choose calmly.
Visitors can choose clothing for the whole family at our location. From baby and children's clothing to clothing for women and men, everything is carefully checked, sorted and clearly presented. This makes a visit feel like shopping in an ordinary clothing store.
We believe everyone should be able to choose clothing that makes them feel comfortable and confident. Whether you need shoes, a warm coat, everyday clothing or a smart outfit for a special occasion, our volunteers are happy to help if you wish.
Kledingbank Maxima Het Hogeland officially opened in Winsum on 28 February 2017. Representatives of the former municipalities of Bedum, De Marne, Winsum and Eemsmond opened the location together. Grants, partners and sponsors have helped make the work possible ever since.
Our customer base is continually changing, and young people and families also know how to find the location. Thanks to volunteers, donors, businesses and community organisations, good clothing receives a second life and people who urgently need support can be helped.
Together, this means we support one another while contributing to a more sustainable future. Every good donation and every volunteer helps keep the shop accessible, well cared for and welcoming.
Whether you need clothing, want to donate clothing or would like to volunteer, you are very welcome at Kledingbank Maxima Het Hogeland in Winsum. Together, we ensure that no one has to face things alone and that everyone has the opportunity to look ahead with confidence.
