Kledingbank Maxima Groningen City is located on Oosterhamriklaan. Our enthusiastic volunteers support residents of Groningen city who could temporarily use some extra help. In a welcoming and familiar environment, you can take your time choosing clothing for yourself or your family.

The location works closely with Voedselbank Groningen to support households on a limited budget as effectively as possible. At the same time, Maxima Groningen City has open admission. A food bank card is not required; residents who have received social assistance for an extended period or have been referred by WIJ Groningen, Quiet or another support organisation can also discuss their situation.

Groningen is a vibrant city where history and innovation go hand in hand. From the Martinitoren and city centre to Noorderplantsoen park and the many students who bring colour to the city, it is a place where many people feel at home. At the same time, there are residents for whom new clothing is not a given. That is precisely why Kledingbank Maxima Groningen City is here.

Our shop has an extensive collection of women's, men's and children's clothing. Everything is carefully checked, sorted and clearly presented. Thanks to the fitting rooms and shop layout, a visit feels like shopping in an ordinary clothing store.

You choose clothing that suits your style, size and situation. The shop receives a mix of pre-owned clothing in excellent condition and new clothing provided by clothing companies and other donors.

Maxima Groningen City uses personal clothing cards. There is one for spring and one for autumn, with separate cards for women, men and children. The card lists which items can be selected, allowing the available clothing to be distributed carefully among households that need this support.

Around 25 volunteers work at Maxima Groningen City. They welcome visitors, sort and present clothing, assist in the shop and carry out all the work behind the scenes.

Our clothing bank relies entirely on volunteers and the support of donors, businesses and community organisations. Their commitment enables us to make a difference every day. Together, we give clothing a second life, help people move forward and contribute to a more sustainable society.
